Noonan Honored with Citizen Cincinnatus Award
The Cincinnatus Association has honored Susan B. Noonan with the prestigious Citizen Cincinnatus Award, recognizing her exceptional commitment to civic leadership and community service in Greater Cincinnati. The award was presented at the 10th Annual Donald and Marian Spencer “Spirit of America” Awards dinner on May 20, an event Susan has chaired for the past 10 years.
A longtime advocate for justice, inclusion, and public safety, Susan has held influential roles across numerous organizations. She has served as President of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association and Vice Chair of the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation. Her leadership extends to the Cincinnatus Association itself, where she has served in several leadership roles and chaired the Spencer Awards Committee, which celebrates organizations advancing equity and opportunity in the region.
Susan’s professional background includes work with the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission as police-community relations coordinator and acting executive director. She also served as finance and fundraising director for the late Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune. Her dedication to public service is further reflected in her involvement with the Ohio Brain Injury Association, the Women’s City Club, and CrimeStoppers.
The Citizen Cincinnatus Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Cincinnatus Association, named after the Roman statesman Cincinnatus, symbolizing selfless service and civic virtue. Susan’s decades of leadership, advocacy, and bridge-building across sectors embody the spirit of this award.
In addition to this recognition, Susan has received numerous accolades, including the Urban League’s Glorifying the Lions Award, the Community Hero Award from ArtWorks, and the President’s Award of Merit from the Ohio Crime Prevention Association.
Susan Noonan’s enduring impact on Greater Cincinnati reflects a life devoted to public good, making her a fitting recipient of the Citizen Cincinnatus Award.
