Together again: Cincinnatus and the arts

The arts contribute immensely to a community's well-being. No less of authority than the Urban Institute affirmed as much in a study of five American cities, Cincinnati among them. Cincinnatus has long understood this, and therefore kept the arts on our front burner. For many years, we had an Arts Panel to suggest programs and initiatives. That panel is now back, resurrected by the passion and will of a new champion, member Ray Kingsbury. Ray is the executive director of the Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center in the Historic Licking Riverside Neighborhood of Covington.  "Cities," Ray says in our Q&A with him, " are beginning to recognize that the arts can serve a variety of purposes, from civic engagement to economic development."
