2013

October: The membership of Cincinnatus endorses Issue 1, supporting the renewal of the levy to support the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Our membership voted at our monthly meeting on Oct. 8 to support  Issue 1, which will appear on the Hamilton County ballot on Nov. 5. According to advocates for the levy, it provides one third of the library’s overall budget and is the only local funding for the library system. The amount of the levy is 1-mill, which represents no increase over the current amount. The cost is $2.51 per month per $100,000 of property value or about $45 per year for a home valued at $15,000.

Telling the Good News About CPS

Cincinnatus, through its Excellence in Education Panel, is partnering with the Cincinnati Public Schools to highlight good news from the school district. The idea is that Cincinnatus ambassadors will "go viral" on social media sites with stories that showcase CPS.
